HOUSTON, August 7, 2026 — Frick-E Energy™ has launched a free seven-day Small Business AI Survival Check built around a problem founder Heather Fricke says is being missed in the rush to teach businesses AI tools: the machine and the owner may not understand the business the same way.

A small-business owner can carry twenty years of customer knowledge, reputation, instinct, expertise and context inside one company. AI does not automatically receive any of that. It reconstructs the business from the public information it can retrieve and the meaning it can infer.

That interpretation is becoming commercially important. Reuters reported that 41% of U.S. consumers used generative AI for online shopping in June and that AI-referred visitors generated 41% higher revenue per visit than visitors from traditional channels. Shopify said AI-driven customer traffic and orders both tripled in its second quarter.

At the same time, smaller firms have less capacity to notice and adapt when the discovery layer changes. NFIB found AI use at 21% among firms with single-digit employee counts compared with 48% among firms with 50 or more employees. A July Thryv survey found 70% of surveyed SMB decision-makers said they needed more training to use AI effectively.

Keeping ordinary businesses from becoming collateral damage in a machine-mediated economy they were never taught how to navigate.

“The owner knows exactly what they built because they lived it,” Fricke said. “The machine knows the version it can reconstruct. If customers are beginning to make decisions through that reconstruction, small businesses deserve to know whether the two versions match before the phone quietly stops ringing.”

The free check asks owners to test what major AI systems think the business does, who it serves, why someone should choose it, what evidence supports those claims, whether public profiles agree and whether the machine routes a customer toward the correct next action.

The larger Frick-E Energy™ work

Frick-E Energy™ focuses on the human-AI understanding gap: the distance between the meaning a human is carrying and the meaning a machine reconstructs from what it receives.

Human Algorithm™ describes the human logic beneath the words. Promptology™ is the process of exposing, testing and correcting enough of that meaning to build useful shared understanding before trusting AI output. Machine-Readable Authority™ is one public and commercial application, helping systems correctly identify, attribute, distinguish and route people toward the right business, person, evidence, offer and next action.

“Small businesses do not need to become technology companies,” Fricke said. “They need somebody to explain the rule change in human language while there is still time to learn it. AI is annoying AF. It is learnable.”

Frick-E Energy™ was founded by Heather Fricke. The company develops practical human-AI collaboration concepts and tools designed to preserve human meaning, identity and economic agency as machine interpretation becomes part of everyday decisions.
